The main purpose of the project is to engage Danish schools in international development through the SDGs. The project involves various activities in the schools with regards to the world around us with special focus on Danish and African school partnership. The partnership will be based on the respective contexts of the partner schools and their engagement in the SDGs.
For the project to achieve its goals, it will provide the Danish students and teachers relevant knowledge about the SDGS from the perspectives of the Danish context. After that, it will engage the students and teachers in how the SDGs are experienced in the African schools. Then, the project will facilitate dialogue and exchange about how to improve school life in the African partner schools according to the UN Global Goals. Crossing Borders and 100% for Children will connect selected schools in their partner countries to build friendships between the Danish and selected African schools in Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and Zambia. The fellow African students will compile education materials and stories such as videos and written materials about their lives in relation to SDGs in respective countries. The stories will comprise life stories, profiles, and educational and social contexts of the students in relation to the SDGs goals. The Danish partner schools will use these materials and life stories to engage their school and communities in the development with regards to the SGDs and then raise funds for their fellow schools in the 7 African countries. For this purpose, online communication, exchange of experiences and concerns between the partner schools will be facilitated by the project partners.
